The Chinatown in Port Louis, is my favorite place to walk through every morning.
I have always admired Chinatowns in other countries because I feel like you can get anything in Chinatown, especially in France where, if I can’t find a specific ingredient for a Congolese dish I’m making, I will somehow always find it in Chinatown.
In this Mauritian Chinatown, what I especially like is the authenticity of the buildings, shops, or restaurants. The district itself is bright with colors thanks to the beautiful street art you can see at every corner which gives you the feeling that you’re walking through an open-air art gallery in the middle of the city.
Enjoy the few pictures I took on a Saturday morning walk, when Port Louis was slowly waking up –
